Pairpoint Annouces CEO transition

London, UK — [September 26, 2025]

Pairpoint Announces CEO Transition to Support Next Phase of Growth

Pairpoint today announced that its founding CEO, Jorge Bento, will step down from his role.

The change comes as Pairpoint enters the next stage of its development, as it focuses on commercialising the innovative technology platform and extensive strategic partnerships that Jorge and the team have created. Vodafone and Sumitomo Corporation have recently invested €30 million in additional capital to support this new phase of growth.

The Board of Directors has appointed Kenichiro Uesugi, a current member of the Board and the General Manager in Sumitomo Corporation’s Digital Platform business unit, as interim CEO. The Board has already commenced a comprehensive search for a permanent successor.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have created at Pairpoint over the past four years,” said Jorge Bento, outgoing CEO. “From the beginning, our mission has been to build the world’s largest Economy of Things ecosystem. With the technology platform now established, a wide range of partners engaged throughout the ecosystem, and additional funding secured from Pairpoint’s founding shareholders, it’s the right time to bring in new leadership to guide Pairpoint through this exciting next phase. I look forward to Pairpoint’s continued success.”

“We are deeply grateful to Jorge for his remarkable contributions and unwavering commitment to Pairpoint,” said Tim Boddy, Chairman of Pairpoint. “His vision and dedication have been instrumental in the company’s success and his legacy as a founder will be a lasting part of Pairpoint’s story. We are confident that Ken will accelerate commercial execution while we conclude our search process.”
